Since 2020, the population of CBD has skyrocketed. Life has gotten increasingly stressful, so you are probably searching for different ways to calm your nerves, soothe your anxiety, and maybe even turn off your thoughts so you can get some sleep. Many CBD products claim to do just that. Still, that raises a lot of questions. How does CBD help with stress? Has research proven anything? Let’s find out.
What is CBD?
CBD, also known as cannabidiol, is a chemical from Cannabis sativa. Similar to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD is able to interact with the body through the endocannabinoid system. However, while THC is known for inducing a high, CBD is not. CBD has no psychoactive properties.
Since 2018, when the Farm Bill was passed, CBD derived from hemp plants and with less than 0.3% THC in the formula has been legal. That has made it easier to acquire.
As of right now, the FDA does not regulate or approve of any CBD product except for Epidiolex, a treatment for rare forms of epilepsy. Epidiolex is currently being tested for other uses.

What Does Research Say About CBD Helping With Stress?
CBD and Stress: What to Know Before You Buy
There are thousands of CBD products out there today. Sadly, not all CBD products are made equal. You cannot randomly purchase CBD and expect good results. Many companies mislabel their CBD products—research has found—so it is important to select a respectable brand. Look for products that have a complete ingredients list, a dosage guide, and how many mg of CBD is in each dose. You also want to look for Certificates of Analysis (COAs) that were performed by independent third-party labs. Organically sourced hemp is also a strong indicator of a quality product.
With these things in mind, you should be able to find a CBD product (or several) that you love.
Looking For High-Quality CBD Products?
Judging by the research discussed, CBD seems to have a lot of potential when it comes to helping people manage their stress. More research is definitely needed before science can say for sure, but the current results are promising. As such, you may be tempted to try some CBD for yourself. While CBD works differently for everyone, there are many products to sample.
